Project Activities
Skills & Training Needs Audit
One of the objectives of the Business with Altitude project is to encourage training, learning and skills development on Alston Moor. In order to do this, we need to find out what skills and abilities people already have, as well as what training people need. We have prepared a short survey, which we would be grateful if you could complete to help us collect this information.

If you would rather speak to someone about learning or skills development in Alston, please contact Margaret on 01434 382381 or 07799 265591.

Logistics
A BWA objective is to create a sustainable collaborative supply chain
which will be developed and managed for businesses across Alston Moor.  This will lower the cost of entry to new markets, increase sales and profitability.

The interim and final reports are available for download.  The focus of the work has now shifted to developing a Community Composting Scheme.

eCommerce
A key objective is to allow businesses on Alston Moor to sell products direct to the public via the internet. This will increase their sales and profitability by opening up new markets and enabling them to compete more effectively. This workpackage covers the feasibility work, aiming to reduce risks for the social enterprise which takes the work on. A workpackage to look at logistics of delivering goods around Alston Moor and further afield is also underway and the successful contractor will be expected to liaise with the project associate carrying out that work package.

The interim and final reports are available for download.  The focus of the work is now on getting some websites up and running for Alston businesses.
